Hi everyone!

We have a quick update for you all as we work hard on the Alpha for A New Leaf: Memories. Most of the assets for house customization and systems is almost ready! We will be continuously adding more more assets for you to enjoy, giving you more customization options.

My personal favorite is the Japanese divider.

 We also have a sneak peak of our character in Unity!

Things overall are progressing smoothly and we expect to release the Alpha around the end of October!

Surveys 

The surveys are nearly complete! Here are some FAQs regarding them:

Q. How much longer will the pre-order store be open?

A. The BackerKit store will be available until the Alpha launches. Estimated to be the end of October.

Q. When will you charge my card?

A. By the end of this week.

Q. How much more to unlock the Aquarium Stretch Goal?

A. SGD$29000 (US $21000)

Q. Will there be an Aquarium if we do not hit the stretch goal when the pre-order store closes?

A. Yes eventually, but it will not be available at launch.  

Q. Where do I input my choice for an additional key?

A. There will be an additional survey for add-ons and pre-orders.

🎨 Surveys and Character Creation!

Hi everyone,

We know you have all been awaiting word on the backer surveys and general developer updates. We thank you for your patience! Victor, our main coder and developer, has been ill for a few weeks and only now are we back in full force.  Things rarely go according to plan (why can't everything in life be perfect?) as there will now be a slight delay in the Alpha. However, we will do everything in our power to deliver a great game as close to the initial date as possible. 

Here are some exciting development updates:

Character Models

Here are our base models for the male and female characters in which you can customize to your liking!

We wanted to focus on offering you, the player, as much freedom to create and customize as possible. Below, we have an example of what the character creator will look like. One thing we're thrilled to share with you is the wide variety of colors you can implement to your hair and skin tone! You may even spy the color palette option where you can apply a truly custom appearance to your avatar...

 A New Leaf: Memories wants to pride itself on its freedom of creation. We can't wait to see what you come up with! 

Here is another inside look to our concept art for the game. What sort of farming experience is without a shovel and watering can? These objects are in the process of being converted into 3D models you can interact with on the farm.

Surveys and Pledge Manager

Surveys and pledge managers are launched! What can you expect now? Upon receiving an email regarding your pledge, you can choose your desired digital copy of the game and select your add-ons. Be sure to check your email as a small handful of backers accidentally received their survey early. If you are one of these people, please refer to that email to manage your pledge. 

We also decided to extend our pre-order store deadline on Backerkit to coincide with the Alpha launch.

🪑👀 Sneak Peeks, Surveys, and Stretch Goals!

Hi everyone,

We have been working hard behind the scenes in preparation for the Alpha release in September and wanted to take a moment to share some first looks with you! While some of you may have caught our first set of furniture over on our Twitter, here are two more completed sets that are available in-game:

Yes! These items will be available in the upcoming Alpha. They also may already be 3D modeled…

We want to spoil our Alpha backers as much as possible, that’s why we are implementing various furniture sets and props/assets to offer you a more customizable experience when you get your hands on the game in September.

Minigames

Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to our BackerKit (we can’t believe 70 of you have purchased the unicorn skin). Because of you, we are nearing our next Stretch Goal: Minigames!

Just when we thought all was lost, our BackerKit contributors have granted us a second chance at adding even more fun to A New Leaf: Memories. We are just 4,000 SGD (or $3,000 USD) away from reaching this goal!

If you haven’t already, please share our project with your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and pets! We’ve noticed a small influx of new community members who are new to the project and hadn’t heard about A New Leaf: Memories prior. Anyone is welcome in our community and we would be happy to share this world with everyone.

🦄🍃 The Campaign May Be Over, but We're Not Done!

Wow. I can’t thank you all enough for the endless enthusiasm and support you have offered us this past month. To think that I was hopeful in even seeing A New Leaf: Memories funded, only to find that goal SMASHED alongside a total of four unlocked stretch goals.

You all have blown me away with your passion and, because of that, I am thrilled to share that we’re going to continue adding more to A New Leaf: Memories through BackerKit! Starting today, you can visit our BackerKit page to pre-order the game and select a variety of different add-ons.

Ask, and You Shall Receive!

We are especially excited to offer yet another popularly requested pet: the unicorn!

Our unicorn will be a skin add-on to our pre-existing horse (similar to our raccoon skin for the red panda pet). If you purchase this skin, you will be able to apply it to ALL of your horses (even the babies). In-game, there will be an option to change your horse’s appearance to a different skin.

So, yes. You CAN have a farm full of unicorns!

This BackerKit extension will allow us the opportunity to reach for the stretch goals that were just out of reach at the end of the Kickstarter campaign. Our total funding amount will be a combination of both the Kickstarter + BackerKit sales.

We can still reach our stretch goals of Minigames (S$160K) and the Aquarium (S$200K)! We are hopeful in achieving these exciting goals before the BackerKit closes on August 31st.

I mentioned earlier how wild of a ride this Kickstarter campaign has been and, even with less than 20 hours to go, this wonderful rollercoaster ride has yet to slow.

Our team has been hard at work and, after being so inspired by your enthusiasm with our Pet Survey and Pet Contest, we decided to unveil a last minute pet!

Say hello to our little pet dragon, Draggo!

They are looking forward to following you around Omoide Island and collecting all sorts of treasures along the way.

We are adding Draggo to the Best Pet Parent tier. This means that, if you have pledged to this tier or above, Draggo will be added to your rewards for FREE! You will be a proud pet parent to both our nine-tailed fox and pet dragon.

We also want to extend this opportunity to our backers as an add-on! 

You can add Draggo for US$30 / $40 SGD and can choose between our nine-tailed fox and Draggo. Whichever you’d prefer!
