We hope you all are getting ready for an incredible weekend ahead of us.
Some of you might already know, but the team behind A New Leaf: Memories had encountered some major challenges during the game’s development. Liam, Victor, and the rest of the team did their very best to push the game forward and to fulfill the promises made to you all - even at the expense of their personal lives and well-being. This pressure, unfortunately, was too much weight on their shoulders. As a result, we offered to acquire the project from Liam and Victor in order to keep the project alive and deliver upon what was promised to the incredible backers who believed in this game from the start.
The Crytivo Team has officially acquired the project back in November! Now, we are not only the publisher for A New Leaf: Memories, but we will also help develop the game directly. Our team stands behind each and every crowdfunding project we launch and - even when things don’t always go according to plan - we remain committed to fulfilling the rewards, goals, promises, and joy originally promised.
Unfortunately, up until now, we had limited access to the Kickstarter page and therefore didn’t have a chance to update everyone here. Well that part is fixed now.
We found a good team who is currently working on the project and we are overseeing it. The development is going strong and we are planning to finish the game this year ( currently looking at the end of summer / beginning of the Q4 ). The game initially will be released on PC, following Switch porting next.
Despite so many changes, the game itself will not change direction as we wish to keep the original vision intact as much as possible. With that said, we will do our best alongside the new dev team to maintain the style of the game, though some changes may still be introduced.

Now let's talk about another exciting news.
The team has been hard at work on a reworked version of the game and we're happy to say that it's ready for early Alpha access!
As one of our awesome backers, we're offering you the chance to be among the first to play the game in its new and improved form! If you pledged for the Alpha access, you'll be gaining access shortly. For those of you who pledged for the Beta tier, your access will follow later on.
If you backed the Alpha version of the game, you should already have a Steam Key. If you are missing your Alpha key, please reach out to me on Discord (Sasha#5709) and we can resolve that issue.
Later today, a new game version will be uploaded to the main branch of Steam and you will be able to download the newest build.
We hope that this announcement helped to clarify the direction of A New Leaf: Memories and gives you all something to look forward to! We are grateful to have you all on this journey with us, through the highs and lows, and want you to know that we are thinking of you first and foremost. Hello everyone!
We are pleased to announce that our Alpha is ready and we will be mailing out keys for Alpha Backers! Be sure to check your email carefully (things could get lost in spam folders) and read the instructions to claim your key. If you do encounter any problems, please ping us in our Discord channel.
As we had mentioned previously, we will continue to patch the Alpha as we progress till the full release. The first significant Alpha patch will include animals and their homes!

Here is our current progress on the Alpha! We have been focused on polishing our house customization and crafting system these past few weeks. Check out the video and share your thoughts in the comments:
- Able to customize house freely
- Using furnitures crafted at the crafting table
- 3 dimension unit (x,y,z)
- Each furniture has its own dimension (e.g. 1x2x1, 2x2x2)
While the majority of the house customization system is polished, we are busy refining some of the lighting in the house. We've fixed some pesky shader bugs to ensure the rotation is smooth while in customize mode. After all, we want the gameplay to be as smooth as possible for Alpha backers.
In the Alpha, you will be able to craft furniture from 3 different tiers.
How do you obtain furniture?
With our crafting system in place, you have the power to craft the type of furniture you want to decorate your house with.
- Crafting items ready
- Materials + Furniture
- More than 50 different furniture ready
- Furniture crafted can be placed inside the house
What are we working on currently?
Our priority right now is the Farm Customization. To offer you the tools to customize your land however you want, starting with the soil, grass, and water.

Hey everyone!
We would like to start off this update with an apology. Due to unforeseen circumstances, there is still a slight delay in the Alpha release of A New Leaf: Memories. Right now, we are looking at an estimated 3 weeks before launch. Following the launch of the Alpha, we will continuously be adding patches which will implement more content for backers to test and uncover. For example, we will launch the primary farm area with all systems available to backers, then we'll patch animals in - including pets! We're not set on the order in which these patches will be added, but you'll soon experience them!
We tried our very best to release the Alpha on October 31st, but some of our team members fell ill and there were other (even tragic) circumstances that set us back. In being a small indie development team, it sometimes feels like when it rains, it pours.
On top of that, there are general issues we're determined to fix in ANL to ensure it runs as smoothly as possible. We don't want to release something that is not enjoyable to our backers. Not to mention, this is our baby.
While we continue to work hard, we want to thank you for your understanding and continued patience. It really means a lot to us. Below, you'll find a video we've prepared to help keep you all excited for the game! It's a sneak peak of our character customization. The end result is Giorgia's favorite customized character currently.
Please feel free to leave your suggestions/feedback in our Discord channel. We would love to learn about what can be improved and what you like most about the character customization.
The pre-order store on BackerKit will close on October 31st and will not be extended! This means that this is your last chance to purchase add-ons, exclusives, and keys.
Pre-order backers will receive their survey sometime after the store closes. Please be patient!
