Hi everyone,

As we enter these final hours of the Kickstarter, I wanted to offer a big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us so far. It is truly amazing that, together, we are building both a game and a community.

I am still holding out hope for achieving our next stretch goal, Minigames! Stranger things have happened, so we will have to see where we end up as this particular journey comes to a close.

This has been my first Kickstarter campaign and, while I have been running on very minimal sleep, it’s been an incredible ride.

To my phenomenal team at IronHeart Studios, thank you all for your hard work and countless hours dedicated to making A New Leaf: Memories a game that we can be proud of.

 A New Leaf : Memories x Buddyrider 

Hi everyone,

Thank you all for helping us unlock our 4th Stretch Goal! You will now be able to Bike Ride around Omoide Island with your furry companion! Not only are we celebrating this amazing goal, but we’re proud to announce a collaboration with Buddyrider!

Buddyrider provides bicycle seats for pets, bringing together people’s love of bike riding and their unconditional care for their pets. We at IronHeart Studios share this similar mission of never leaving our pets behind!

I was inspired to add Buddyrider into A New Leaf: Memories since I use it to take Doukee on all sorts of adventures around Singapore.  I hope you enjoy taking your pets with you on your own quests around the island!

How Will Bike Riding Work in ANL?

As you explore Omoide Island on the quest to regain your memories, your pet will be able to join you in an easier and aesthetic fashion! You will have the ability to choose the color of your bike and improve your overall experience (and your pet’s) as you establish your roots. Now that this stretch goal has been achieved, we can work on creating more features like quests and adding a new NPC related to bike riding!

3D Zen Pond Preview

We also have a fun update on one of the Kickstarter add-ons: the Zen Pond! We have been converting our 2D design into a 3D display for our backers and, while it is still a work in progress, we’re thrilled to show you our progress thus far.

Hi everyone,

The time has finally come to reveal the results of our pet survey! Thanks to you, we had raised enough funds to add 15 additional pets to the world of A New Leaf: Memories. We were thrilled to see your suggestions come pouring in and, after receiving 836 suggestions, we have the results.

Here are the pets joining us on Omoide Island:

Red Panda (with an alternative Raccoon skin!)

Pug

German Shepherd

Bunny

Maine Coon

Wolf

Maltese

Dachshund

Rottweiler

Golden Retriever

Ferret

Sphynx Cat

Hedgehog

Pomeranian

Border Collie

Some of the top-rated animals joining us! And an honorable mention...

And there you have it! You’ll note that there are actually 16 pets being added next, thanks to a couple of ties. We also received quite a few suggestions asking for birds, rodents, reptiles, and even fantasy animals. While these pets didn’t make the list, these suggestions will certainly not be left out. We plan on adding some of these other suggested pets to the game, however, their mechanics will work differently in-game than the aforementioned list. We’re excited to give these particular pets their own unique behavior.

Additionally, we are happy to be adding more skins for our feline pets as many of the suggested breeds have a similar body to one another.

Hi everyone!

We are in the final stretch for the Kickstarter! It’s surreal that, nearly 30 days ago, we made this campaign live in the hopes of funding a dream game. Now, with A New Leaf: Memories over 240% funded, we are bewildered and humbled that so many of you believe in this game.

For that, we will continue to work as hard as we can to ensure you have the best experience. Here is a lighter update before we reveal big news that's just around the corner:

Pet Survey Ends Tonight

As a reminder, our pet survey ends tonight on Saturday, June 5th at 11:30PM PST. We have received over 750 suggestions from our community! There are some clear winners that we’ll see in-game as well as some...interesting suggestions (shout out to the individual who wants to see Bigfoot as a companion).

We can’t wait to share the results with you on Monday, June 7th!

Pet Contest

In case you missed it, we are hosting a pet contest on Twitter. We wanted to celebrate you and your beloved pets, so we have an extra special prize for 3 wonderful pet parents: a custom digital art piece!

Thank you to those who have already entered. We love seeing members of our community: fur, feathers, and all!

The winners will be announced on Thursday, June 10th at 10AM PST so get your entries in!

New Farm Animal Animations

We’ve been busy updating our farm animals and can finally reveal their new models and animation! We previously had placeholder animals, knowing that we would want to spend the time and effort in making these lovable critters our own. Our cows, chicken, and sheep are cuter, fluffier, and chunkier than ever before!

After drawing our animals by hand, we then had to model and texture the designs in 3D. Every animal needs a skeleton, so we added the “rigging” structure to our models and finally animated them! We can’t wait for you to pet these guys in-game. Stay tuned for more updates!

We are currently taking suggestions for pets you would like to see in A New Leaf: Memories and have already had over 600 suggestions! Remember, the survey will close on Saturday, June 5th at 11:30PM PST. We are looking forward to revealing the top suggested pets with you all soon.
